Abstract:
This study aimed to produce a three-episode audio drama with the concerned community of Paoay, Atok, Benguet. Specifically, it identified recent narratives of VAW in barangay Paoay in terms of cases and government action, developed a production framework for production and evaluation, determined the elements required in the production of audio drama series, determined the general audience evaluation on the audio drama series, determined the suggestions for improvement of the audio drama series, and determined the challenges encountered in the production and evaluation.
The community participants who filled the characters in the audio drama series has a prior experience in drama which made them qualify in casting. The produced three-episode audio drama were entitled: First drama is ‘Surat ti biag’, second drama is ‘Ti ag-ina’ and third drama is ‘Solisog ti panagbiag’.
In conducting the study, a production framework came up comprising three phases. The pre-production phase, consisted of information gathering, scripting, a workshop, casting and rehearsals. Production phase, consisted of recording, editing and mixing, expert evaluation, re-editing and remixing. The post-production phase, consisted of public broadcast, evaluation and distribution. Public response data were analyzed, tabulated and interpreted using descriptive evaluation and mean rating.
Evaluation was conducted in two sets. First was evaluated by three media experts. Second was evaluated by the general audience including the key-informants and community participants.
Basing from the result of evaluation during the public broadcast, the audio drama series were described as good.
