Abstract:
Eleven entries of tomato namely: Marimar, 39-1, 40-N, 46-N, 42-N, 35-1, CLN17671721,
BPI9956, BPI99510, CLN2112, and NSICTm9 were evaluated for resistance to bacterial wilt and
other diseases under greenhouse condition. The study was conducted at NPRCRTC and Plant
Pathology greenhouse from November 2015 to May 2016.
Results revealed that the entry CLN2112 exhibited early symptoms of wilting while CLN
17671721 gave the highest wilt infection compared to the other entries and a percentage disease
incidence of 46.66%.
All entries were infected with late blight and powdery mildew. The highest marketable
fruit was obtained from entry 35-1 with a mean of 2367.50g followed by the entry 46-N with
2092.50g which were significantly higher than the harvest from entries 39-1 and 40-N with a mean
ranging from 1348.75-1277.50g.
