Abstract:
This study was conducted from March to April 2016 in Loacan, Itogon, Benguet to gather the demographic profile of the respondents as to sex, age civil status, and highest educational background, number of years in mining and farming, crops cultivated and monthly income. The practices that directly affect agricultural production, determine the extent of implementation of laws and ordinances as to the results, the respondents are relatively young, married and have undergone formal education, Majority of the respondents claimed that all mining practices has totally affected agricultural productivity. As to the extent of implementation of laws and ordinances all the municipal ordinances were moderately implemented. As to the practices used to mitigate the effects of mining, regulating the use of chemical, conducting seminar and planting trees can be possible.
