Abstract:
The study was conducted to determine the growth and yield of soybean varieties as affected by application of Mykovam, determine the effect of Mykovam application on soybean production, determine the interaction of applying Mykovam on soybean varieties, and determine the profitability of applying Mykovam on soybean production.
The application of Mykovam had significant effect only on the height of soybean at 30 DAP, while, there was no significant effect on the other parameters measured. As for the varieties, there were significant differences on plant survival, number of seeds per pod, pod weight per pod and total seed yield. For interaction effects, Mykovam and variety significantly affected plant height at 30 DAP, number of seeds per pod and weight of 200 seeds. In terms of pest and disease, most of the varieties are moderately resistant to pod borer and cutworm. As to profitability growing soybean varieties without Mykovam registered higher ROCE than those applied with Mykovam. SY2 (Tiwala 6) without Mykovam obtained the highest return on cash expense with 242.54%.
