Abstract:
This verification study was conducted to evaluate the growth, yield and profitability of intercropping amaranth and cucumber.
Results of the study verified that the number of days to seedling emergence of cucumber and amaranth, days from planting to first fruit harvest of cucumber and the length of cucumber fruits were not affected by possible allelophatic effects.
The total number of amaranth shoots and the total weight of shoots harvested per plot in planting amaranth alone in two rows was significantly higher than the total number of shoots and weight of shoots per plot harvested in intercropping two rows of amaranth + one row of cucumber.
