Abstract:
The study was conducted to determine the best adapted cultivar/s of zucchini under Ba-ayan, Tublay, Benguet condition, determine the effect of mokusaku on the growth and yield of zucchini, determine the best rate/s of mokusaku that will enhance the growth and yield of zucchini and to determine the ROCE on the growth and yield of zucchini production.
Based from the results of the study, all the Zucchini varieties evaluated were resistant to insect’s pests and diseases. Senator and Harmony F1 varieties had the highest total yield, marketable fruits, average fruit weight, average number of fruits per plant, average fruit yield, taller plants, longer fruits and highest number of harvesting among the varieties evaluated.
Application of mokusaku in Zucchini plants promoted earlier fruit formation and also produced the least weight of non-marketable fruits compared to those plants that were not treated. Furthermore, mokusaku application boosted resistance of the plants against insect pests and disease. Harmony F1 and Senator Varieties applied with mokusako also produced the highest profit.
