Abstract:
The study was conducted at Organic Agriculture Demo Farm of the Benguet State University, La Trinidad Benguet on January 2016 to April 2016 to determine the best rate of corn cobs on the yield of potato under open field; determine the effects of corn cobs on some physical and chemical properties of the soil; and determine the return on cash expense of potato production.
Application of 25 tons/ha of decomposed corn cobs gave the highest yield, marketable and average per plant of potato. Application of decomposed corncobs significantly lowered the bulk density of the soil. Moreover, application decomposed corncobs significantly increased the phosphorus and potassium content of the soil. Furthermore, application of 5 tons/ha of decomposed corn cobs has the highest return on cash expense.
