Abstract:
The study aimed to determine the profile of softbroom buyers, to determine the products attributes preferred by buyers, to determine the types and kinds of softbroom preferred by the buyers and to find out the reasons of buyers in buying softbroom produced in Burgos, La Union.
Buyers of softbroom prefer to buy ordinary softbrooms rather than colored softbrooms. In terms of product attributes, buyers strictly consider quality of the softbrooms through thickness, color and length of the grass hair.
From the six kinds of softbrooms; double sewing is the most preferred by the buyers to buy and sell because it commands low price and easy to dispose in the market. For the producers, double sewing is the easiest to produce among other kinds.
Among the five municipalities of La Union producing softbroom and one in Benguet, the softbroom produced in Burgos is the most preferred.
The main reason of the respondents why they engage in buying and selling softbrooms is it is the source of income, and they also wanted to help producers to dispose their products.
