Abstract:
This study was conducted to develop and maintain the services offered by Mount Purgatory Traverse by determining the socio – demographic profile of the tourists trekking in Mount Purgatory Mangisi Traverse, to determine their level of satisfaction on the services the trekking activities offered, and to determine the factors that affects their level of satisfaction.
Study shows that most of the tourists have acquired formal education and are employed aside from the students. The tourists are satisfied with the tour guides, porters, registration and booking services, transportation, facilities and security and with the qualification of the personnel but neither satisfied nor unsatisfied with the medical services. However, they are very unsatisfied with the access of information on the traverse.
Moreover, peace and order, cleanliness, climate and the beauty of the place are the factors that greatly affect the level of satisfaction of a tourist.
Based upon the results of the study, several recommendations can be made to improve the services offered by Mount Purgatory Mangisi Traverse. First, establishing strong network connection in the area to enable easy access of information. Second, protection of the natural resources by the Association of Bokod Adventure Eco- Guides (ABADEG) and lastly, reconstruction or repair of signages in and along the way with the help of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bokod, Benguet.
