Abstract:
The study aimed to document the profile of micro, small and medium enterprises in Sta. Maria, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao. Especially it aimed the following: the profile of the registered enterprises, the classification of registered enterprises in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao, the period of low and peak sales, and the contribution of registered MSMEs to the community. Data were gathered from a total of 50 entrepreneurs using survey questionnaires and personal interview.
Results showed that majority of the respondents have an age of 36 and above, female, married, college level or graduate, self-employed and have lived in the area for 21 years and more.
In terms of the business profile, the most common type of business in the area includes garments and foot wears and groceries. Majority started the business with an initial capital of 20,000 and below and have been in the business for 2-6 years. Most of the entrepreneurs have 1-4 employees and do not provide any training. Likewise Most of the entrepreneurs have not attended any seminar or training and do not have background in business- related course. Moreover, majority claimed that their perceived competitive advantage is the affordability of price of their product offerings, the source of input or goods are the wholesalers and the type of customer is everyone.
