Abstract:
The study was conducted in the municipality of Sagada, Mountain Province from December 2015 to January 2016. It aimed to identify the tourist’s demographic profile, the most visited tourist destinations, the types of tourists visiting the destination, their sources of information, the problems encountered in the area of destination and their level of satisfaction on the different attractions focusing on the components of tourism. The study involved two groups of respondents such as the domestic and foreign tourists.
Majority of the domestic and foreign tourist are young people. Majority of the domestic tourists are female while among the foreign tourists majority of them are male. The most visited tourist destinations are the Sumaguing and Lumiang caves and the Hanging coffins. Adventure tourists is the main type of tourist visiting the place. The sources of information about the area of destination for domestic tourists are through word of mouth and the internet while for foreign tourists is from the internet.
The problems encountered in the area of destination are the lack of accommodation facilities, public comfort rooms, unsanitary surroundings and the opportunistic business owners.
Moreover findings on the level of satisfaction showed that tourists are satisfied with the different destinations in Sagada in terms of attractions, amenities, activities and accessibility particularly for Kiltepan Tower, Bomod-ok Falls and Sagada Rice Terraces.
