dc.description.abstract This study aimed to evaluate the existing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials in addressing teenage pregnancy in La Trinidad, Benguet. Specifically, it aimed to determine the socio-demographic profile of the respondents; enumerate and describe the existing IEC materials used in La Trinidad; to evaluate the existing IEC materials; and to document how participatory approach (PA) was utilized as experienced in the study. There were 86 respondents of the study. Eighty respondents are chosen randomly to evaluate the IEC materials, where there are five respondents in every barangay of La Trinidad. The study also tapped six expert evaluators to further evaluate the materials with the help of their expertise on the matter. Based on the research findings, there are five IEC materials identified being circulated in the municipality which is poster, leaflet, flash cards, jingle and television infomercial? The five existing IEC materials were rated as good and excellent. Expert evaluator’s also complemented the evaluation of the youth respondents; however, they have commented on some of the technicalities of layout and design and graphic designs. In this regard, in producing a localized IEC materials, it can be noted that in the study, the production started from the evaluated existing IEC materials. The results of the evaluation were then feed backed to MHO-LT, as the primary agency to advocate for teenage pregnancy prevention. After the consultation, the researcher and MHO-LT consolidated the results and planned for the production of a localized IEC material. The results of the evaluation were integrated in the content development and production of the localized poster. As a result, a localized poster medium was produced through the respondent’s participation. en_US
