dc.description.abstract Indigenous materials in the Philippines especially in the Cordilleras are widely used by handicraft industries and even by arts or crafts teachers. The study aims to find out the utilization of indigenous materials by Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) teachers in the different public high school and elementary levels in La Trinidad. The study was descriptive with the questionnaire as the main data-gathering instrument. The universe of the study consisted of forty TLE teachers. All respondents’ utilized bamboo under grasses, coconut palms for palms and rattan under vines. Respondents utilize indigenous materials for teaching handicrafts not because of its versatility nor the reusability and recyclability but most of all is the preservation of our culture as compared to synthetic materials. It is recommended that the teachers utilize available indigenous materials for instruction. en_US
