This study was conducted at the two schools of La Trinidad, Benguet namely; BSU and CCDC on December 2015 to February 2016 to determine the monthly allowance of the college students, find out how the students spend their allowance, determine the factors affecting consumption expenditure of college students and determine the problem encountered by college students in receiving their allowance.
The monthly expenditure of students staying with their families or relatives from highest to lowest are as follows; food, school supplies, transportation and personal expenses with equal percentage and communication as the lowest. For those staying in boarding house, school supplies and personal expenses, communication, recreation, transportation and utilities with equal distribution and the lowest is health expenditure.
The significant factors affecting students’ consumption expenditure are: amount of allowance, age, sex, and place of residence.
The problems met by the students according to rank are as follows: high cost of commodities, delayed allowance, insufficient allowance and high cost of transportation. |
