This study was conducted to determine the meal that employees usually eat outside the home, determine the places they usually eat, the reason/s of employees in buying foods prepared outside the home, determine how much they spend, the problems encountered when buying food prepared outside the home, and the factors affecting expenditures of government employees on food prepared outside the home.
Based on the results, government employees usually eat lunch outside the home because their time to prepare their food is limited so they have to eat in restaurants near their work place. The other places where they usually dine out are in carenderia, and fast food. The other reasons of the government employees in choosing the place of buying food are: food offered are affordable, more menu available, and faster food service. Majority of the government employees are spending more than Php 130 daily in buying food prepared outside the home. The factors they consider when buying food are sanitation of the place and affordability of the food. Among the demographic factors, only sex has a significant effect on the amount spend in buying food prepared outside the home. The result reveals that female government employees are spending less than male government employees.
The problems encountered by the government employees in buying food prepared outside the home are the following it goes in descending order- not sure on the safety of the food prepared outside the home, the cleanliness of the place, and long line in ordering food. |
