Perceptions of Working Students on the Savings and Withdrawal Policies and Practices of Mountain Maid Training and Development Foundation Inc.

Abstract

The study was conducted at Good Shephered, Mines View, Baguio City to determine the perceptions of working students on the savings and withdrawal policies and practices of Mountain Maid Training and Development Foundation Inc.; to determine the problems faced by the student workers on the savings and withdrawal policies and practices of the company and to identify the possible solutions on the problems. An interview and survey questionnaire was used in gathering the needed data. The respondents of the study were 100 student workers of Mountain Maid Training and Development Foundation Inc. These student workers are studying in the different schools of Baguio and La Trinidad. Majority of them are studying at Saint Louis University and University of Baguio. Most of the respondents had been working for almost three to four years and personally supporting their studies. The savings and withdrawal practices and policies of the company were found advantageous to the student workers except the fixed budget and withdrawal policies that are disadvantageous to some of them. Student workers save more for their tuition fee and for their other needs. The fixed budget of some student workers is not enough for their daily needs. Furthermore, they have problem on the withdrawal policy of the company. As a solution they suggested that the company should increase the fixed budget and the company to be flexible on the withdrawal policy.
