The study was conducted to determine the demographic profile of the tourists visiting Lubuagan, and the specific tourist destination seen in the place. It also aimed to know the assessment of tourists on the quality of services they availed and their suggestions and to identify the challenges/problems the tourist encountered during their stay in Lubuagan and their recommendations about the existing problem.
The tourist who served as respondents were from the neighboring provinces of Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), National Capital Region (NCR) Region IX (Zamboanga peninsula), Region II (Cagayan Valley), Region IV-A (CALABARZON), Region I (Ilocos Region), Region III (Central Luzon), Region VIII (Eastern Visayas), and Region VI (Western Visayas).
Majority of the tourist’s age are ranging from 21 to 30. Most respondents are females and single. All of the respondents attended formal education and most of them earned a degree in college. Also, majority of the respondents had jobs or self-employed.
The main destination that the tourists want in visiting the place are the woven products like “Tapis/G-string” and others that were patterned and designed, the red rice/ red glutinous rice, the Mabilong Weavers Village, the Lubuagan soft broom products, and Awichon Cultural Village Heritage.
As to tourist’ rating of services, souvenirs/products, and entertainment/activities respondents gave a very good rating for quality of services. Food services, accommodations, public rest room, public transportation services, tourist information center, supplementary services and community participation are rated as good quality. Also, the services, and internet services, information materials, tour guides/signage are rated as poor quality of service.
The most common problems of tourist in visiting the place were slippery, dangerous and rough road, no ample light on streets, and lack of printed information about the place. |
