dc.description.abstract The study was conducted in San Pascual, Tuba, Benguet to evaluate the effect of different fertilizer to the growth and yield of the different rice varieties; compare the effect of the different foliar fertilizers and the farmers practice on the growth and yield of the different rice varieties; determine the interaction effect of the different type of fertilizers and variety on the growth and yield of rice; and determine the profitability of growing rice varieties applied with different fertilizer. Based on the result, all of the four varieties used had a comparable performance in terms of final height, tiller number produced, number of productive tiller produced, number of grains per panicle, number of filled grains per panicle, yield per plot, weight of one thousand grains, and computed yield per hectare. However in terms of the height of seedlings UPL Rc 7, NSIC Rc 9, and NSIC Rc 23 are comparable to each other, NSIC Rc 11 was the shortest variety. On the fertilizers, Vitazyme had the best performance based on all the gathered data except on tiller number and number of productive tillers. The best combination among the two factors were the variety UPL Rc 7 applied with Vitazyme and NSIC Rc 23 that was also applied with Vitazyme based on yield and ROCE. All of the four varieties can be used for rice production under San Pascual, Tuba condition. Vitazyme can be used as a fertilizer for rice in Tuba, Benguet due to higher number of grains per panicle, number of filled grains per panicle, yield per plot, weight of one thousand grains (1,000), computed yield per hectare and higher percentage in ROCE with a low cost of production and easy application. en_US
