dc.description.abstract The experiment was conducted at Piminggan, Ansagan, Tuba, Benguet from November 2014 to February 2015 to determine the effects of rate of fertilizer application on some physical and chemical properties of the soil and yield of pole beans; the effects of intercropping Chinese cabbage, green onions and potato on some physical and chemical properties of soil and yield of pole beans; the interaction effect between the rate of fertilizer application and intercrops on some physical and chemical properties of soil and yield of pole beans; and to determine the economics of fertilizer application and intercropping Chinese cabbage, green onions, and potato in pole bean production. Rates of fertilizer application have no significant effect on some physical and chemical properties of the soil, as well as yield parameters. Intercropping had no significant effect on the yield of Pole beans and on some properties of the soil. Planting pole beans together with Chinese cabbage as intercrop however gave a higher marketable yield of pole beans. There was no significant interaction effect between rates of fertilizer application and intercropping on some properties of the soil and on the yield of pole beans but planting pole beans intercropped with Chinese cabbage gave a higher net income and return on cash expense. en_US
