| dc.description.abstract | The study was conducted to determine the effects of concentration and frequency of baking yeast application on the growth and yield performance of cabbage, and the economic analysis of applying baking yeast on cabbage production. The study revealed significant differences on the growth and yield of cabbage as affected by the concentration and frequency of baking yeast application. No significant differences were observed on the number of days to head initiation and head harvest, size of head, and average weight of individual plants. Foliar application of baking yeast at 30, 60, and 90 g/li promoted higher marketable, total and computed yield. While application at five and 10 days interval enhanced earlier head initiation, lower non-marketable yield, and higher total and computed yield. However, application of 60 g/li applied at 10 days interval is more economical and produced the highest return on cash expense (ROCE). | en_US |
