dc.description.abstract The study was conducted at the Regional Tissue Culture Laboratory, Benguet State University, La Trinidad, Benguet in order to determine the response of the different varieties of Oriental lilies to different culture media composition for in vitro culture establishment, to determine the best culture media for each variety and for the in vitro culture establishment of Oriental lily. Based on the findings, MS + 2 mg/L NAA + 2 mg/L BA and MS + 2 mg/L IAA + 0.5 mg/L BA had promoted the earlier shoot formation, more number of roots and shoot in variety After-8. While with the use of MS supplemented with 2 mg/L NAA + 2 mg/L BA and MS + 10 mg/L NAA + 1 mg/L kinetin had significantly promoted earlier shoot and callus formation, induced shoot elongation and more roots in variety Siberia. On the other hand, Concador had in earlier shoot and callus formation, more shoots and roots in MS supplemented with 1 mg/L BA + 0.1 mg/L NAA + 6 % sucrose and MS + 2 mg/L NAA + 2 mg/L BA. Therefore, MS supplemented with 2 mg/ L NAA + 2 mg/L BA is recommended for the in vitro culture establishment of the three varieties of Lilium orientalis with other culture media for specific variety as stated above. en_US
