Assessment of Tourism Attractions and Tour Packages of Sagada, Moutain Province.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the tourist attraction that is most visited by tourists, and their respective ratings, to determine the tour packages mostly availed by the tourists and their ratings, and to determine the comments and suggestions of tourists towards tourist attractions and tour packages of Sagada, Mountain Province. The study was conducted in Sagada, Mountain Province from December 2015 to January 2016. The study has a total of 150 respondents composed of 116 domestic tourists and 34 foreign tourists. Survey questionnaires were used as a primary tool to gather data. The data was tabulated, then analyzed trough frequency, percentage, weighted mean and ranking. Results revealed that majority of the domestic tourists were from the National Capital Region (NCR) while the foreign tourists were mostly came from Europe. The oldest of the tourists was 61 years old while the youngest was 14 years old. The mean age of the respondents was 29. All of the respondents acquired formal education; majority of them were non-government employee. Most of the tourists visited Hanging coffins and Sumaguing cave. The highest total weighted mean rating was Cave connection. Most of the tourists availed Echo valley packages and Cave connection which has the highest rated mean. Garbage was the most commented the tourists towards the attractions and majority suggested that garbage should be cleaned in every attraction. Tourists commented that some of the tour package are easy to access but at expensive rates. Respondents suggested to come up with a package price comprising all the tourist attractions.
