Preference on the Selected Cultured Honey Brands in Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the respondents’ preference in terms of price, taste, aroma, color and packaging of the three selected cultured honey brands, to find out the most preferred honey brand and to determine the main factors that influenced the respondents’ to prefer one honey brand over the others. A total of 100 respondents were surveyed 50 from La Trinidad and 50 from Baguio City. The respondents evaluated three kinds of honey brands namely 5R’s Honey, Goldwell Sunflower Honey and Natural Philippine Honey to be able to compare taste, color, aroma and packaging of the honey brands. The most preferred honey brand by the respondents is the Natural Philippine Honey followed by 5R’s Honey and the least preferred is Goldwell Sunflower Honey. Respondents prefer Natural Philippine Honey because of its taste and packaging. The main factor that influenced them to prefer one brand of honey over the other is taste. Findings show that the preferred packaging of the respondents’ is crystal bottle and a label containing complete information about the product.
