dc.description.abstract This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of jackfruit leaves decoction as a hypoglycemic agent. Specifically to know the effect of different levels of concentration of jackfruit leaves decoction and control treatment metformin on the level of blood sugar of mice. This study utilized the experimental, quantitative research design and used Analysis of variance as statistical treatment. With twelve white mice as subject of the study. Where three replicates received 25%, 50%, 75% and the control treatment (metformin). In the three days application and observation findings were drawn. On the first day, treatment 1 (25% decoction) has the highest mean followed by the control treatment, treatment 3 (75% decoction, and treatment 2 (50%) decoction with means of 36.33, 31.67, 24.33 and 17.33 respectively. The second day 75% decoction got the highest mean of 29. 67, followed by T0 with 26.67, then 50% decoction with 14,67 and 25% decoction with 9.33. On the third day, 75% decoction again have the highest lowering effect with 36.67 followed by 25% decoction, then T0, then 50% decoction with means of 30, 24, and 14.33 respectively. In ANOVA, the F-computed during day 1, day 2, and day 3 which are 0.975, 2.199, and 3.076 are lower than the F-value of 3. 59 at 0.05 level of significance. This means that there is no Significant Differences of the Treatments in Lowering the Blood sugar of white mice. From the findings, the conclusions were drawn. First, the higher the base line blood sugar level, the higher the decrease in blood sugar level after the treatment. Second, the higher concentration of jackfruit leaves decoction, the better the effect in lowering the blood sugar level. Third, continuous intake of the jackfruit leaves decoction stabilizes the blood sugar. And lastly, using jackfruit leaves decoction regardless of the concentration had an effect in lowering blood sugar and within the normal range. From the data gathered and interpreted, the proponents therefore recommended that future studies to have other preparation of the jackfruit leaves aside from decoction like extraction and a similar study with human as the subject. And information dissemination on blood sugar lowering effect of the jackfruit leaves. en_US
