The study aimed to determine the common guidelines in Focus Charting followed by the Benguet State University third year student nurses. Furthermore, it sought to determine the extent of adherence to the guidelines in Focusing Charting by third year student nurses.
Data were gathered from the third year student nurses of Benguet State University, La Trinidad, Benguet, accounting to a total of one-hundred-two-respondents. The study was conducted from October- February 2013.
The data were gathered from the respondents through a structured checklist after giving the instruction.
The data collected were subjected to related frequency, weighted mean, Chi-square test and T-test.
The finding of the study reveals that the most common guidelines flowed by Benguet State University student nurses in focus charting is “Makes use of progress sheet with columns for the following: Date and Time” while the least common guidelines followed is “If a nursing diagnosis is used, the identified problem statement should be under the NANDA List of nursing diagnosis as of 2009.”72.22% of the focus charting guidelines and 75% of the general charting guidelines are being flowed by the third year student nurses.
The results also showed that the Benguet State University third year student nurses always adhere to the guidelines in focus and general charting. |
