<title>Student Information and Enrollment System for Magsaysay National High School</title>
<link>http://repository.bsu.edu.ph/handle/123456789/672</link>
<description>Student Information and Enrollment System for Magsaysay National High School
Bolinget, Astrid May; Elmo, Eleonore; Francisco, Gretchen; Lee, Michielle Dianne
Computer technologies are rapidly advancing nowadays in our modern time. Other manual ways of processes are now turned into a computerized system. Improving traditional way of processes to a modernized process can lessen workloads, easier access and update of needed information and the availability of the information.&#13;
Enrolment processes these days including storing and retrieving of student records are converted into automated systems for ease of access and lessen workloads of teachers and students.&#13;
The study was conducted to design and develop a system that could help to ease the enrolment process and storage of students’ information.&#13;
Specifically, the study sought to address the following: a) what are the current processes involved in the existing enrolment process that needs to be solved? b) What are the difficulties encountered during the enrolment process and storing student information? c) What are the features to be incorporated in the design and development of the proposed system to address the existing difficulties?&#13;
The researchers conducted interviews among the teachers and coordinator of Magsaysay National High School to further assess the process of the current enrolment. Currently, the current enrolment process of Magsaysay National High School (MNHS) requires a reservation and confirmation.&#13;
Problems encountered include time consuming of the retrieval of student records from filing cabinets, redundant student data and misplacement of student records. Also, there are no back-up files in case of different natural and environmental activities.&#13;

Since the office uses manual operation, the proposed system would solve the problems existing in the current operation. The teachers would have easy access and up-to-date records, fast retrieval of files, organized compilation and storing of students records, faster generation of reports and having back up files in case of misplacement and loss of student records.&#13;
Through this study, the following were recommended: implementation of the developed system to speed up the generation of reports to lessen time consumed in storing, retrieval and updating of student records; addition of more features and functionalities and enhancement by future researchers.
